First off, let me just acknowledge that it’s literally been years since I posted on this site. Seems the speed and simplicity of social media has swallowed my online presence whole. But that’s all about to change. I’ll be updating JoshuaDysart.com very soon. Expect a slicker interface, a cleaner look and a more pleasurable user experience. From that point on I’ll be shifting the majority of my online presence from Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to this dedicated site and start using social media as my “conversation” workhorse with readers, friends and peers. Hopefully we can make this URL valid again.
All that aside, I’ve got some great news to post. And while my own site is waaay behind the rest of the net in reporting it, at least I’m finally dusting off the cobwebs here and getting everything up and rolling again.
In January of 1992 a comic book phenomena began with the publication of HARBINGER #1, created by Jim Shooter and David Lapham. For the next three years it burned brightly as the premier book of the Valiant Comics line and one of the most talked about books of the 90’s. Now, in the age of cultural recycling, the powers-that-be have decided to reignite the flame that was Valiant Comics and with it, HARBINGER.
And they’ve tapped me to write it.
And I’m pretty damn excited about it.
The original premise is not just timeless… it’s timely. I’ll easily find room inside of the material to rap about corporate dominance, the baby-boomers screwing up everything for the rest of us, the struggle for social control between generations, protest movements, economic crises, class warfare between the super-powered and how we’re just outright leaving a shitty world to our youth. In other words Valiant is just letting me be me.
